Professional Lawn and Landscaping Services

We Offer A Variety Of Services

Lawn Maintenance

Our lawn maintenance program consists of mowing the property as necessary, string trimming (weed whacking), and blowing off walks and driveways. We can pick up sticks and debris, or whatever else is necessary to keep your property looking its best.

Mulching

This is an all important aspect of bed maintenance for several reasons. The mulch helps prevent weed growth by preventing light to soil contact and also by preventing the weeds from having a firm surface to build a root system in. Mulch is also effective at retaining nutrients and water in the soil as well as providing a very attractive ground covering.

Shrub Trimming

We can schedule shrub trimming 1-3 times per season or you can call as needed. All debris generated from shrub trimming will be hauled away.

Flower Bed Maintenance

We offer flower bed maintenance which includes removing all weeds and debris, and cut back perennials for winter.

Spring & Fall Clean Up

We offer Spring and Fall cleanups to get your property ready for the Springs and Summer months. This consists of picking up any leftover leaves, sticks, or other debris that accumulates over the Winter. Our Fall property cleanups consist of the cleanup and removal/disposal of leaves, sticks and debris.

Snow Removal

We offer complete snowplowing services including de-icing for driveways and parking lots, including shoveling walkway steps. We can customize a program to fit your individual needs, whether you need your property cleared at the first sign of snow or ice, or on an as-needed basis.

Lawn Aeration

Removing small cores of soil from your lawn reduces soil complication and promotes root growth for healthier grass!

What Is Aeration?

Technically speaking, aeration is the naturally occurring process of air exchange between the soil and it’s surrounding atmosphere. Practically speaking, aeration is the process of mechanically removing small plugs of that and soil from the lawn to improve natural soil aeration. It’s commonly called “core aeration” in the lawn service industry, and you may have heard of it as soil cultivation (coring, spiking and slicing). Most homeowners simply call it aeration.

Walking, playing and mowing will compact soil and stress lawns. Raindrops and irrigation further compact the soil, reducing large air spaces where roots readily grow. Compaction is greater on heavy clay soils than on sandy soils and it is the greatest in the upper 1 to 1 1/2 inches of soil.

Aeration can help relieve soil compaction, allowing your grass to grow deeper roots and make better use of water and fertilizer.

What Are The Benefits of Aeration?

Core aeration can help make your lawn healthier and reduce its maintenance requirements through the means:

  • Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere.
  • Enhanced soil uptake.
  • Improved fertilizer uptake and use.
  • Reduced water runoff and puddling.
  • Stronger turfgrass roots.
  • Reduced soil compaction.
  • Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance.
  • Improved resiliency and cushioning.
  • Enhanced thatch breakdown.

Equipment Affects the Outcome

The type of aeration can determine how effective the treatment will be. In general, turf responds best when core holes are close and deep. Equipment with hollow tines removes soil cores. Equipment with open tines divots the soil surface. Aeration equipment also varies in tine size up to 3/4 inch diameter and in depth of penetration up to 4 inches, depending on the manufacturer’s specifications.

Why Is Aeration Necessary?

In most home lawns, fertile topsoil may have been removed or buried during excavation of the basement or footings, forcing grass to grow in subsoil that is more compact, higher in clay content and less likely to sustain a healthy lawn.

ROOT GROWTH – Core aeration allows air, water and fertilizer to better reach the root zone. This stimulates root growth to create healthier, stronger turfgrass plants.
